Mindfulness
I mentioned the concept of Mindfulness in a blog last week. I heard Ruby Wax talk engagingly on the subject in her show "Sane New World" at the Churchill Theatre last year and her belief that information on it should be more publicly available. Other than that, I haven't yet researched it in great detail. In my last meeting with my Access To Work/Remploy advisor yesterday, she pointed me in the direction of a couple of Mindfulness apps. She explained as the app was loading that it provided a topic on which to focus one's thoughts, as the subject "Focus on your sexual desire" flashed up on the screen. Cue hilarity.
Darren Maskell often reacts with derision when I inform him that I've purchased a cassette tape. I procured another one yesterday. On this occasion, it was the only format available for Tellison's "Tact Is Dead" EP. Five tracks, including the "Tact Is Dead" single, a solid acoustic reworking of the upcoming single "Boy" and three remixes of TIS. That seems like overkill and it probably is but there's an intriguing electroacoustic version in the mix. This will be the last mention of Tellison in this blog for a while, on the condition that everyone reading this goes to check out their stuff at tellison.co.uk. Also, they're on tour again next month, largely it seems in the M4 corridor and the region north of London but south of the midlands.
Back to Rainham tonight for the Jokers competition semi final. I suspect I'm not quite the sort of act that they're looking for and that I'll be on a hiding to not very much. But we shall see.
