3rd January

My run of consecutive blogs comes to an end at 367. We shall not see its like again. Thank goodness for that. This weekend has also seen victories for both Manchester United and Sunderland and I doubt I'll be seeing that again for a while either.

I watched Inside Out again. I found more in it that I did in my first viewing, the finale is undoubtedly moving and I ended up reappraising the involvement of Riley's imaginary friend Bing Bong too. I'm still more emotionally invested in the earlier films in Pixar's catalogue though. I suspect a generation of young people will consider this their Pixar film in the same way that I feel Toy Story is mine. And that's certainly no bad thing. I've also just realised that Finding Dory comes out this year and hopefully it'll stay true to the spirit of the original.

I then moved on to the darts. Last year's PDC World Championships final was one of the best darts matches I've ever seen. This one has been riddled with miscounting errors from Anderson and poor finishing from Lewis, who otherwise has produced his best darts for a long time in this tournament. Anderson has ended up retaining his title in a tense conclusion with a 7-5 victory.

I feel like the year properly starts tomorrow. Time to knuckle down and get some things done. I've just remembered I've got a stand-up gig in a fortnight. I haven't stepped on stage for five months. What could possibly go wrong?
