3rd April

My life has reached the point where I've started watching people play through video games on YouTube. "Let's Play", I believe they're called. I've basically spent too much time recently watching a guy play through Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in a misguided attempt to reconnect with my youth. And living vicariously through people good enough to actually complete games, rather than play them for a week before giving up.

Basically I've become very nostalgic about Nintendo in the past few weeks and want to play Mario Kart again. They've dangled both a new console and a Mario Kart reissue in front of my face. Surely I'm not going to pay £330 just to play that. Right now, the answer is no. But I can't entirely rule it out.

My pop-culture fixation has continued with the arrival of the first of three Loot Crates, a box of mystery stuff curated around a theme. This month's one is Primal, which has resulted in an Overwatch t-shirt, a Predator bottle opener and a die cast Wolverine amongst other things. It's a fun collection of things. I've bought a few things from them now. You might not think a Los Pollos Hermanos apron is a strictly necessary thing to own but it is a joy. Oh and I'm getting a Mario Kart t-shirt from them soon. Mario Kart, Mario Kart, Mario Kart. Excuse me, I'm off for a lie down.
