Weigh In: Week 12

Starting Weight: 25 stone, 13 pounds.
Previous Weight: 24 stone. 4.3 pounds.
New Weight: 23 stone, 11.5 pounds.
This Week's Loss: 6.8 pounds.
Total Weight Loss: 2 stone, 1.5 pounds.

OK, so I lied about the 'no more weigh ins' thing. But I feel that it's justified. I'm going to tell you all about how I lost weight using this one incredible trick, the trick being developing an illness that prevents you from eating for three days. I have questioned Fitbit's calorie calculating abilities before but probably should have guessed something was up when it informed me I had burned 5,750 in a day from a sedentary position. Anyway, two stone is two stone and I won't turn my nose up at it regardless of the circumstances. Doing a weigh in now also allows me to establish a 'last Saturday of the month' weigh in routine which I will continue for the foreseeable future.

I hope you're all keeping well. I would not say I'm coping super well with the lockdown, having today reached the phase where I wander around the house in my pajamas singing 'Heaven Is A Half Pipe' whilst awaiting access to my employer's WFH portal. In the meantime, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has made a timely return to Netflix with season 6 and has become my go-to light sitcom of choice in recent years. This one has the added bonus of fewer appearances from Gina Linetti. She's comfortably the worst and most annoying character, don't @ me. I've also enjoyed Marc Maron's new special 'End Times Fun' this week. His curmudgeonly style is reliably entertaining and it's a mostly strong 70 minutes, even if it drifts off into unusually fanciful territory by the end.

The second season of Sunderland Til I Die drops on Netflix on Wednesday 1st April (hard to believe the streaming giants aren't actively taking the piss out of Sunderland fans with that one). I will probably do another blog on that subject, talking about one of the stranger facets of my life. Anyway, all of this should be enough to keep me going for a little while. Before I inevitably succumb to Disney + and a 30 season Simpsons marathon that I presumably won't survive to see the end of.
