4th December

Today's blog is mostly stray bits and bobs. After having to sacrifice my ticket for Frank Turner's show at Alexandra Palace last month, I was cheered to discover I had been successful in the ballot for his charity gig at the beautiful Union Chapel on 19th December. Support comes from Ben Marwood who I also like very much and who is making a tentative return to gigging after a couple of years of serious health problems. Very pleased to have him back. All the money goes to Shelter and it should be a fantastic night. I previously saw Turner and Marwood at the Union Chapel in what I now realise was seven years ago and am now terrified about where all the time has gone.

I also tried my first festive beverage of the year. It was a Black Forest Hot Chocolate from Costa. Although the topping was fancy (whipped cream with cherry sauce and chocolate sprinkles), I was underwhelmed by the actual drink, which was not suitably infused with the cherry flavour and instead tasted like a bog standard Costa hot chocolate. Nothing to write home about. Although if I or anyone else ever elected to write home about a hot chocolate, you would rightly assume we'd taken leave of our senses. Sadly, I have no more updates on the Christmas sandwich situation. It's probably for the best. I weighed myself the other day and if I carry on in my current vein, I'll be dead by 2020. Bye everyone!
